WatchTime’s January-February Issue is On Sale Now!

WatchTime Jan Feb 2017 CoverThe January-February 2016 issue of WatchTime is on newsstands now (and also available in our online shop), featuring tests of the Breitling Avenger Hurricane, Rolex Daytona, and Omega Ploprof; a retrospective of Blancpain’s historical milestones, an in-depth look at Bulgari’s inventive new world-time watch, and more.

Scroll down for highlights from the issue:

  • In the cover story, “Storm Warning,” Jens Koch finds that Hurricane is an appropriate name for Breitling‘s new, big pilots’ watch, which is light in weight yet extremely robust thanks to a newly developed material used for its case. Read his detailed report on the watch, which features original photos by OK-Photography.
  • The new Rolex Daytona, with a steel case and ceramic bezel, is today’s most sought-after watch. In the test feature “Object of Desire,” Koch offers an in-depth, hands-on review of one of the first new models. Original photography is by Marcus Krüger.
  • Omega has updated its gigantic Seamaster Ploprof 1200M. The new titanium model is now even easier to wear, but how does it perform under water? In the watch test feature “Titanium Titan,” Alexander Krupp and the photography team of Jens Köppe and David Brenes finds out.
  • Blancpain, which traces its roots to 1735, has never made a quartz watch. Miniaturized movements, grand complications, and robust basic calibers reflect the manufacture’s passion for mechanical watches. In “100 Percent Mechanical,” watch historian Gisbert Brunner spotlights 14 milestone Blancpain timepieces from the 1930 to the modern era.
  • Bulgari’s Hora Domus Multizone is a new approach to how a world-timer can make traveling through different time zones as easy as pushing a button. WatchTime editor-in-chief Roger Ruegger gives the watch a thorough overview in “The New Face of Travel.”

Plus: an exclusive preview of the new Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Full Carbon ahead of its debut at SIHH 2017; a review of A. Lange & Söhne‘s ultra-precise Saxonia Moon-Phase; a photo portfolio of men’s dress watches suitable for suiting up; the full scoop on Patek Philippe‘s auction-record-breaking 1941 watch; and more.
