Gérald Genta Has Died at Age 80

Gérald Genta, designer of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, Patek Philippe Nautilus, IWC Ingenieur, Omega Constellation, Cartier Pasha, Bulgari Bulgari, and other icons of the modern era has passed away at age 80. Genta was born to Italian immigrant parents in Geneva in 1931. LVMH Reports Strong First Half Results

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton recorded revenue of €10.3 billion in the first half of 2011, an increase of 13%. Profit for the first half rose to €2.223 million, an increase of 22% compared to the same period in 2010, which had itself shown strong growth. LVMH Acquires Majority Stake in Bulgari

In a deal that was finalized last night, France's LVMH will acquire the Bulgari family’s majority shareholding in Bulgari S.p.A. LVMH will issue 16.5 million shares in exchange for the 152.5 million Bulgari shares currently held by the Bulgari family, making them the second largest family shareholder of the LVMH Group.
