The introduction of Bulgari's Octo Finissimo in 2014 made a profound impact in the realms of high horology. The minimalist yet highly sophisticated design not only signaled a daring innovation in watchmaking but also demonstrated Bulgari's success in merging an ultra-thin case with contemporary materials. Even more impressive, Bulgari has set six world records in six years with the Octo Finissimo, including the world’s thinnest tourbillon (Ref. 102138 in 2014), the thinnest minute repeater (Ref. 102559 in 2016), the thinnest (serially produced) automatic watch (Ref. 102713 in 2017), the thinnest automatic tourbillon (Ref. 102937 in 2018), the thinnest automatic chronograph (Ref. 103068 in 2019) and the thinnest tourbillon chronograph (Ref. 103295 in 2020). Unsurprisingly, the Octo Finissimo not only won critical acclaim worldwide; three of these record breakers have been awarded at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG).

The lineup for 2024 includes a particularly beautiful iteration in stainless steel with a copper dial. Not just any copper, though, but, a vibrant "Tuscan" copper, as it is stated in the model's name, Octo Finissimo Tuscan Copper. This radiant metallic hue draws inspiration from the art school of "Mannerism" that predominated in Italy from the end of the High Renaissance in the 1520s to the beginnings of the Baroque style around 1590. Derived from the Italian "maniera," meaning style, it seems as a fitting description of this ultra-thin time-only watch that displays the subsidiary seconds at 7 o'clock and is furnished with rhodium-plated hands, numerals and hour markers.

The case is crafted from 316L stainless steel and measures 40mm wide and just 6.4mm in height. Water resistant to 100 meters, it is attached to an integrated metal bracelet.

The exhibition case back displays the beautifully finished BLV 138 that is wound via a micro-rotor. Despite its svelte height of 2.2mm, this small workhorse boasts a power reserve of 60 hours.

Pricing for the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tuscan Copper is marked at $13,300.
