A Holiday Watch Shopper’s Guide to New York City

When you’re planning a trip, you probably google the must-visit restaurants, hotels, and, of course, the most popular sights. As a watch enthusiast, however, you not only want to see landmarks; you also probably want to check out some watches, especially if you’re visiting during the holiday shopping season. In addition to famous multi-brand watch watch retailers like Tourneau and Wempe, many watch brands have a flagship boutique in New York City — which is also the hometown of WatchTime (come say hi!). As the holiday season kicks off, we offer this comprehensive list of boutiques where watch-loving visitors to the Big Apple can find their favorite brands. If we missed a place, let us know in the comments, and feel free to offer other suggestions and watch-shopping tips.

Times Square

Times Square

Times Square offers several watch stores worth visiting. The Citizen boutique is one of them, located on 43rd and Broadway. Then Tissot is located on the opposite side of Times Square, on 7th Avenue between 44th and 45th. Just a short stroll further north, at the corner of 7th Avenue and 45th, you can also find a Swatch store.

Fifth Avenue

Rolex Boutique, Fifth Avenue

Fifth Avenue in New York City is famed for its luxury retailers of fashion, jewelry and, of course, watches. It runs from Harlem in the north to Washington Square Park in downtown Manhattan. The most expensive and luxurious stretch is between 49th and 60th Street. Start at world-renowned Saks 5th Avenue, where you can glimpse a few watches, before walking north to discover a plethora of branded boutiques.

On Fifth Avenue you’ll find:

In addition to these brand boutiques, you’ll find famous jewelers like Wempe and the Aaron Faber Gallery on 5th Avenue. Turn from 5th onto 57th to find the Tourneau Time Machine Store, which features a giant clock installation at its entrance. Walk east on 57th and cross Madison Avenue to find the Audemars Piguet boutique on your left. Once you’re on Madison, there are a whole slew of other watch-brand boutiques to your north and south.

Madison Avenue

Breitling Boutique, Madison Avenue

Madison Avenue, which has so many watch retailers that it hosts its own annual Madison Avenue Watch Week event, welcomes shoppers to discover and try on watches at the following boutiques:

Westfield World Trade Center

Westfield World Trade Center

Downtown, the Westfield Mall next to the World Trade Center is worth checking out not only for its Santiago Calatrava-design building but also a place to find a few watch brand stores. While strolling through this memorable shopping and transport hub, you’ll have the chance to visit the following brands in their own boutiques, plus the lone London Jewelers location in Manhattan:

Happy shopping, and tell them WatchTime sent you!
