Panerai’s “O’Clock – time design, design time” Exhibition Opening in Beijing

After its success in Milan, Panerai is once again partnering with the Triennale Design Museum to present a new edition of the exhibition “O’Clock – time design, design time” at the CAFA Art Museum in Beijing from March 7th to April 10th, 2013. Designed and arranged by Patricia Urquiola in partnership with Officine Panerai and curated by Silvana Annicchiarico and Jan van Rossem, the purpose of the show is to explore the relationship between time and design. A Panerai installation conceived by Patricia Urquiola, slightly re-imagined from that in the Milan exhibition, will be presented at the opening ceremony and will incorporate a fresh selection of Panerai timepieces.

Compared to the display in Milan, the Beijing exhibition includes an expanded, updated selection of works that take account of China’s newly emerging and already established design potential. A wide-ranging display of original site-specific works, installations, design objects, works of art and videos, by international artists and designers, all seek to address questions such as, “How is time measured?”, “How can passing time be shown?” and “How can time be experienced?” All the works exhibited tackle subjects such as the passage of time, time’s evolution, and decay over time.
