"Dieci Giorni," people who understand Italian might already guess by the name what Panerai's PAM01482 most important feature is: a power reserve of 10 days, or 240 hours. While this is very impressive, the Luminor Dieci Giorni GMT has even more to offer: a linear power reserve indicator, a second-time zone including a night-day indication and a date.

This splendid combination of complications comes on a picture-perfect sandwich-style dial in an intriguing sunray-enhanced blue color. Paneristi, as the community of this traditional Italian brand call themselves, will also be delighted by the sought-after cushion-shaped, mirror-like polished Luminor case. With a diameter of 44mm and a water-resistance of 100 meters, it is equipped with the iconic crown-protecting device and attached to a color-coordinated leather strap.

The Luminor Dieci Giorni GMT is part of the Luminor Complicazioni collection, which comprises of chronographs, GMT, and high-end complications. In typical fashion of the Luminor collection, the luminescent dial is furnished with Arabic numerals and hour markers, a date display at 3 o'clock, and a small seconds sub-dial dial at 9 o'clock. The central GMT hand has an orange tip to indicate the second time zone at a glance.

At the heart of this timepiece lies the P.2003 caliber. It was the first automatic movement entirely designed and created by the Officine Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel. The P.2003 has all the technical features that make up the DNA of the P.2000 series, including a free-sprung balance wheel with inertia regulation, 28,800 vibrations per hour, three barrels, a GMT function with AM/PM indication, a quick adjustment of local time, date, balance wheel stop, and seconds reset. It is characterized by an automatic winding system with a 10-day power reserve, driven by a ball-bearing-mounted oscillating weight that winds the barrels' springs as it rotates in both directions. The P.2003 caliber is also equipped with a seconds reset device, which resets the seconds hand to zero, allowing the watch to be perfectly synchronized with a reference time signal.

The long power reserve function dates back to the 1960s, when Panerai used the SF240 movement produced by Angelus with an eight-day power reserve and small seconds at 9 o'clock. With a diameter of 16 lignes, this caliber was derived from a mechanism for small table alarm clocks and had a variable inertia balance wheel beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour and an Incabloc anti-shock device. The power reserve was so long that the need for winding was greatly reduced, further reducing the wear on the gaskets and the possibility of water ingress, thus meeting the strict requirements of the Italian Navy commandos.

“In the new Luminor Dieci Giorni GMT, Panerai continues its legacy of technicity and innovation. With the advanced 10-day power reserve, we’re pushing the boundaries further, offering our clients a mix of enduring performance and Italian design.”

Jean-Marc Pontroué, CEO of Panerai

Pricing for the Paneria Luminor Dieci Giorni GMT is marked at $15,200.
