Showing at WatchTime New York 2015: Armin Strom Skeleton Pure Water

WatchTime’s biggest and most luxurious watch collectors’ event to date, WatchTime New York, takes place October 23-24 at Manhattan’s Gotham Hall. (Click here for event details and to purchase tickets). Among the luxury watch brands displaying their wares at the event will be Swiss skeleton specialist Armin Strom, whose headliner will be the new Skeleton Pure Water model.

The watch — which recently won Germany’s prestigious Red Dot Award for design — is part of Armin Strom’s Skeleton Pure collection, which “celebrates the mechanical architecture of a movement by highlighting the layered construction of the components.” All watches in this family are outfitted with Armin Strom’s Caliber ARM09-S, which is skeletonized and features a mainplate accentuated through 3D PVD colorization. The gear train and barrel bridges are meticulously plated, with rhodium or ruthenium, by highly trained artisans in Armin Strom’s dedicated electroplating department. Caliber ARM09-S, a manual-wind, double-barrel movement, is also notable for its impressive eight-day power reserve, which is indicated on the small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock. The Armin Strom Skeleton Pure Water — with its stainless steel case, blue-tinted sapphire dial ring, blue PVD-coated plate and dark blue alligator strap — rounds out the four elements in the Skeleton Pure collection, with Fire (18k rose gold case, dark brown PVD coating), Air (titanium case, gray PVD coating) and Earth (black PVD-coated stainless steel case, black PVD coating).

The case measures 43.4 mm in diameter and 13 mm thick, and offers a water-resistance of 50 meters. The watch has a sapphire crystal and sapphire exhibition caseback, both with nonreflective treatment. The translucent blue sapphire dial ring features founded appliqué indices. The genuine hornback alligator strap, in complementary dark blue with white contrast stitching, has a stainless steel ardillon buckle (a double-folding steel clasp is available on request); the watch also comes with an additional dark blue rubber strap. Like all watches in the Skeleton Pure collection, the Armin Strom Skeleton Pure Water is a limited edition of 100 pieces.
