Turbine Time: Accutron Unveils Two New Spaceview 2020 Watches

Accutron adds two new executions to its Spaceview 2020 collection, featuring a proprietary electrostatic energy caliber. The electrostatic energy of the movement is created by twin turbines that rotate as a result of human motion at fast neck speeds between two electrodes affixed to the movement. The energy, stored in an accumulator, powers two motors; an electrostatic motor fueling the fluid second hand and a step motor powering the hour and minute hands. Both are synchronized through integrated circuits to provide accuracy to +/- 5 seconds a month.

Both timepieces feature a 43.5mm polished stainless steel case with domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The first style boasts a smoke grey open-work dial with signature Accutron green accents and transparent outer ring, light green super luminous markers, hour and minute hands and orange second hand. Finished on a matching stainless steel bracelet, the watch is available for $3,850.

The second style combines a new green dial treatment with a transparent outer ring, grey bridges, light green super luminous markers, hour and minute hands and orange second hand. Offered on a charcoal calf leather strap, the watch retails for $3,450.
