Tockr Glows Brighter with the New Air-Defender Lume Series

Earlier this week, Texas-based boutique brand Tockr unveiled the latest update to its Air-Defender collection, the new Lume series. The update includes three new colorways, with each distinguished by its hydro-dipped, luminescent cases, newly available in black-and-white lume, green marble lume, and camouflage lume — all of which are both eye-catching in broad daylight and highly luminescent in the dark. This update comes in the context of the extensive hydro-dipping program the brand already advances for the Air-Defender collection, showcasing its mastery of uncommon watchmaking accenting in a wide array of prints including carbon, tie-dye, magma, snakeskin, camouflage, wood grain, and marble.

Each of the new models uses the same 1970s chronograph-inspired design seen in previous Air-Defender watches. The thick, 45-mm, cushion shaped, steel hydro-dipped case has elongated chronograph pushers and conical crowns at 3 o ‘clock and 10 o’clock for adjusting the time and rotating the inner bezel, respectively. Moving to the watch’s face, we find that angled, inner rotating 60-minute bezel, with a small arrow at its top and broken up at each 5-minute mark with Arabic numerals. Framed inside this bezel is the bulk of the dial, with tick markers for each of the hours, here again accented with Arabic numerals for each 5 minutes, and vertical subdials for a 30-minute counter, running seconds counter, and 12-hour counter at the top, left, and bottom of the dial, respectively. On the right side we see the Tockr logo, a day-and-date indicator, and the watch’s descriptions, while passing over each of these details are lume-accented hands for the hours and minutes and a red-tipped pointer for the chronograph seconds.

Inside the Air-Defender is the Valjoux 7750 — a supremely popular and reliable chronograph movement capable of a 42-hour power reserve. The Tockr-finished automatic movement also features a skeletonized rotor visible via a sapphire caseback. Each watch comes mounted on exclusive, American-made “Stealth” straps produced in partnership with Oklahoma-City based HIX Design studio. All are hand-cut and lume-stitched, flared on their sides, tapered at the buckle, and featuring a raised and perforated section near the lugs with leather colors custom-coordinated to each dial. Specifically for the new Air-Defender Lume series, Tockr for the first time is integrating luminous thread into its HIX straps, each hand-stitched with lume-dipped, pigmented thread.

The latest release is available now directly through Tockr for $3,250. To learn more and to inquire about purchasing the new watch you can visit Tockr’s website, here.
