Purplicious: TAG Heuer Revs Up with a Beautiful Colored Monaco

There has been a bevy of intriguing dial variation for the iconic TAG Heuer Monaco, with green, red, black, and – of course – blue shades since its introduction 53 years ago, proofing that a good design works well with different colorways. This rings especially true for the latest execution, the Monaco Purple Dial Limited Edition.

Limited to 500 pieces, this edition combines the unmistakable charisma with fresh and distinctive finishes. The color is not only unusual and vibrant, but additionally offers a refined gradient with a different shade intensity and a subtle “smoky” touch.

It creates a magnificent background for the rhodium-plated indexes and hands with white Super-LumiNova coating as well as the two black opaline sub-counters. The finely brushed and polished 39-mm stainless steel case which is water resistant to 100 meters boasts an exhibition case back that showcases the Heuer 02 Automatic caliber which has served as a motor for the Monaco since its 50th anniversary in 2019. In this special edition, the column-wheel chronograph movement that amasses a power reserve of 80 hours features purple details.

The TAG Heuer Monaco Purple Dial Limited Edition is exclusively sold in the brand’s boutiques and retails for $7,100.
