America’s largest luxury watch extravaganza, WatchTime New York, is returning for its fifth consecutive year at Midtown Manhattan’s Gotham Hall on October 25 – 26, 2019. This year’s event is shaping up to be the biggest yet, with 37 participating watch brands displaying their latest and greatest timepieces. Among these brands is MeisterSinger, which will showcase its entire 2019 lineup of releases, including the brand-new U.S. Limited Edition for 2019.
For the past few years, German-based MeisterSinger has joined in on the ever-growing trend of releasing market-exclusive versions of specific timepieces. For 2019, the brand has recently announced its U.S. exclusive and it’s riffing on the Metris Black Line Edition that MeisterSinger announced at Baselworld earlier this year. However, rather than building off the sporty Metris profile, MeisterSinger has opted for a cleaner presentation within the No.3 series.
The Metris Black Line Edition that was released this year combines a striking yellow dial that fades to a soft orange hue with a stainless-steel case that has been enveloped with a DLC treatment. This unusual colorway continues in the U.S. edition despite a few slight aesthetic changes to follow the design language of the No.3 collection. The watch uses a 43-mm case with matching colored printed dial markers for the 12-hour ring dial descriptors. At each quarter hour mark is a subtle orange-red accent, complemented by a single red-tipped hour hand that does a full rotation every 12 hours. While some past iterations of the No.3 line have included a date window at 6 o’clock, the new U.S. limited edition skips over it. Inside the watch and visible through a six-fold screwed exhibition case back is either an ETA 2824-2 or Sellita SW 200-1 movement capable of a 38-hour power reserve. Like previous U.S. exclusives from MeisterSinger, the watch’s exhibition caseback features an applied sketch of all 50 states. The yellow-and-black No.3 is a U.S.-exclusive release and is limited to just 50 total pieces.
