It’s about that time again. At 8:30 A.M. EST tomorrow morning, the Hôtel des Bergues in Geneva will be filled to capacity as Only Watch 2017 gets underway and enthusiasts from around the world bid to claim these one-of-a-kind timepieces. Of particular note this year: the Patek Philippe Ref. 5208T-010, which is the first of its kind produced in titanium; an otherworldly collaboration between Laurent Ferrier and Urwerk; and a colorful F.P. Journe chronograph unlike anything you’ve seen before.
A few of my personal favorites include the Piaget Black Tie Vintage with a dial made from pietersite, a remarkable Jaquet Droz with an eye-catching culprite dial, a Voutilainen sporting a sandwich dial, and a watch from MCT made in collaboration with artist Anish Kapoor featuring the blackest material in the world: Vantablack. As always, all proceeds from the biennial auction will go towards research on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
You can see the rest of the lots here.
