Blancpain Introduces a Boutique-Exclusive, Platinum-Clad Villeret Perpetual Calendar

Blancpain has launched a new Villeret Quantième Perpétuel 6656 model in platinum that will be exclusively available at its 30+ official brand boutiques worldwide. Limited to 88 pieces, the new watch is nicely sized at 40 mm by 10.7 mm and features an attractive sunray blue dial with registers at 3, 9 and 12 o’clock along with a moon phase display at 6 o’clock and a central seconds hand that glides underneath the antireflective sapphire crystal and above the white gold Roman numerals.

The watch is powered by the brand’s manufacture 5954 automatic caliber that offers up a 72-hour power reserve to complement its moon-phase and QP functionality. The movement features a solid gold rolor and a silicon hairspring. The complicated timepiece also features a proprietary Blancpain invention that enables the calendar hands and moon phase to be adjusted by simply pressing the small levers located underneath the lugs on the back of the case. This design frees the case from any of the lateral correctors that are typically found on calendar-enhanced timepieces and offers a more streamlined appearance to match the sophisticated double-stepped bezel. Finally, the new watch comes on a blue alligator leather strap secured by a folding clasp.

The new Blancpain Villeret Quantième Perpétuel is available now, limited to a total of 88 pieces, and is priced at $66,400. In the United States, Blancpain operates two brand boutiques in New York City and Las Vegas, which means that if you happen to live outside of Nevada or New York, a flight might be in order to get one on your wrist.
