Cuervo y Sobrinos launched an eponymous watch series, the Historiador Asturias, as a declaration of love for the founder’s home in Asturias, a principality located in northwest Spain. Now it is being extended by a new execution with an intriguing anthracite dial with sunray finish.

The subtle colorway makes for a beautiful background for the applied hour indices, the leaf-shaped hands, and the date indication, which uses white numerals on a black disc. The brand’s logo, referring to its Cuban origins and long history, is also displayed.

The Historiador Asturias comes in a stainless steel case which measures 40mm in diameter and 9.9mm in height. It features the signature bold and extended lugs of the entire Historiador collection. A screwed see-through case back with sapphire crystal allows for unobstructed views into the inner life, which is likewise updated from its predecessors.
