Time to Shine: New Colors for Three Cool Classics from Norqain, Baume & Mercier, and TAG Heuer

As the days grow longer and the sun climbs higher, some watch brands present a timely update to their palette. This summer, enthusiasts can look forward to a vibrant transformation of some popular timepieces. From the cool hues of ocean blues to subdued earthy shades and radiant copper, the latest color updates from Norqain, Baume & Mercier and TAG Heuer are set to make a splash in the season’s style. Whether you’re lounging by the pool or navigating the urban jungle, these watches that are priced below $5,000 will ensure you keep time in a sophisticated way.

Norqain Freedom 60 GMT

The young Swiss sports watch brand presents an addition to the Freedom 60 GMT 40mm collection. The new model features a slightly domed luminescent dial with a literally cool ice-blue hue with a sun-ray finish that shimmers in the sunlight like the surface of a lake or pool. It creates a magnificent background for the central red-tipped hand that indicates a second time zone and the date indication at 3 o’clock.

The retro-inspired watch is powered by the chronometer-certified Norqain caliber NN20/2, an automatic movement from Kenissi with a power reserve of almost three days. It is housed in a sporty 40mm stainless steel case that is water-resistant to 100 meters.

The Freedom 60 GMT 40mm is attached to a bracelet and retails for $4,490.

Baume & Mercier Classima Chronograph 10782

This year, Baume & Mercier has introduced some tasteful color updates to its Classima Chronograph line. In the reference 10782, the classic dial layout with azuré counters at 12 and 6 o’clock, small seconds at 9 o’clock and the weekday-and-date indication at 3 o’clock is highlighted on a sophisticated sand-colored sunburst enhanced dial. The subtle hue provides a beautiful backdrop for the anthracite accents, creating a harmonious contrast that increases the legibility.

The round, polished stainless steel case measures 42mm in diameter and is 13.2mm thick. The exhibition caseback reveals the automatic movement based on the legendary Valjoux 7750. The Classima 10782 is fitted with an interchangeable sand nubuck calf leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching. It can be changed without the use of tools thanks to a clever spring-bar system.

Pricing is marked at $3,200.

TAG Heuer Carrera Date

The Carrera Date, relaunched last year with a modest diameter of 36mm and thickness of 10.2mm, has been expanded by three models this year. These include this two-tone model crafted from steel and pink gold with a stunning copper dial. The radiance of this intense and coveted shade is enhanced by a brushed snail finish that beautifully stages Carrera’s signature facetted polished applied indexes, which are rose-gold plated to match the solid gold bezel and links of the triple-row bracelet.

The Carrera Date is powered by the automatic Caliber 7 with a 56-hour power reserve. Based on a Selina movement, it can be admired through the exhibition case-back.

Pricing is marked at $4,950.

While this is the 1st one from the brand I like, the Norqain Freedom 60 GMT, it is priced into a space that has many many options from very established brands. Good luck Norqain!
