The Colors of Dolce Vita: Norqain Unveils News Shades for Freedom 60 Chrono 40mm

Color seems to be an even bigger trend in this year’s new watch models than in previous years. But it’s not just the stunning color ways – many brands are pulling out all the stops with creative hues, shades and nuances that often come with cool names reminiscent of places or cultural assets. Seiko, for one, recently added some gorgeous light colors to its Presage Classic Series. Nomos Glashütte, definitely a pioneer in colored dials, unveiled two new variants of the Club Campus, aptly named “Endless Blue” and “Nonstop Red.” Another example is Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo Tuscan Copper, highlighting a salmon-hue with a metallic touch on its dial.

The latest brand to unveil tasteful color combinations is Norqain, adding three variants to its Freedom 60 Chrono 40mm collection. Inspired by the natural beauty of Tuscany, Italy, and channeling the famous “Dolce Vita” motto, they come with pastel hues by the names of “pistachio,” “sky blue,” and, in line with this year’s Pantone color “peach”. While the blue execution has dark blue counters, the sub dials on the other two newcomers are black. All shades are enhanced by a sunray finish. A nice detail is the color-coordinated date indication between 4 and 5 o’clock.

Designed as robust yet classic outdoor watches, the Freedom collection offers a water-resistance of 100 meters, luminescent dials and a tachymeter scale on the rehaut. The case is made from 316L stainless steel and measures 40mm by 14.9mm. Its retro design is distinguished by a slim bezel and mushroom-style push pieces. As is customary for the young Swiss brand, there is a plate on the left side that can be engraved with a personal message.

The watches are powered by the self-winding Norqain calibre N19, based on Sellita SW510 a, that beats at 4 Hertz and offers a substantial power reserve of 62 hours. It can be admired through the sapphire case back.

Norqain offers the new chronographs with metal bracelets as well as the “Nortide” textile straps and black rubber straps. Pricing starts at $4,290. Limited to 300 pieces, the peach-colored execution retails for $4,390 with a Nortide strap and $4,650 on a bracelet.

The new line-up will be on display at Norqain’s stand at this year’s Watches and Wonders, which will open its doors on April 9.
