Chopard has been partnering with the legendary Mille Miglia classic-car race since 1988. To the delight of old timer and chronograph enthusiasts, the annual event is accompanied by a special edition limited to 1,000 timepieces in stainless steel. In addition, the watches feature a tachymeter scale and a C.O.S.C.-chronometer certificate for the proven precision of the self-winding caliber under its hood.
This year’s Mille Miglia GTS offers great looks with a touch of tasteful vintage design. The dial, which was designed with best readability in mind, features a silver-gray background marked by a subtle circular satin-brushed finish and blue hands and markers coated with Superluminova. In order to create a contrast of all the functions, the chronograph counters and subsidiary seconds sub dials are snailed. The magnified date indication is also part of the package.
Water resistant to 100 meters, the case has a diameter of 44mm and features a closed back and knurled chronograph pushers. It is attached to a perforated brown calfskin strap with blue rubber lining. The new Mille Miglia GTS retails for $7,770.
Chopard also offers a 250-piece limited edition in bicolor which features 18k rose gold on the crown, pushers and bezel. This variant has a price tag of $11,400.
