Introducing the Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force “The Limited Edition 5th Anniversary”

Armin Strom had a mostly quiet 2020, but made some noise at the very end of the year, unveiling its latest novelty, the Gravity Equal Force “The Limited Edition 5th Anniversary” right before the holidays. This new release comprises two variants of the Gravity Equal Force design, first unveiled in the summer of 2020 and marking the launch of the independent watchmaker’s entry-focused System 78 Collection. These specific models were produced in partnership with The Limited Edition, a luxury-focused watch retailer, in celebration of its fifth year of operations.

The new watch has a 41-mm by 12.65-mm polished steel case with brushed, square lugs and a large rose-gold crown. The 30-meter water-resistant case is secured to the wrist via a gray alligator leather strap fitted with a pin buckle. Protecting the dial is a slightly domed sapphire crystal, anchored by a stylized, polished steel bezel.

On the dial proper, we see the fruits of a major luxury collaboration, between Armin Strom, The Limited Edition, and star watchmaker Kari Voutilainen, whose work is evident on the guilloché plate of the partially skeletonized face. On the left side of the dial is a sunray subdial for the hour and minute indicators, encompassing a smaller subdial for the seconds. The time is told via skeletonized hands for the hours and minutes, while a simple pointer is used to count the aforementioned seconds. Opposite these features we discover the exposed bridges of the watch, which on one model are in rhodium and on the other, rose gold. Beneath these bridges are some of the exposed elements of the skeletonized watch, including a lovely microrotor in the top spot.

The watch’s opposite side features an expansive exhibition caseback, which places the exquisitely finished Caliber ASB19 on display. The in-house-developed automatic movement hosts 28 jewels, has a frequency of 25,200 vph (3.5 Hz), and features a power reserve of 72 hours.

Both limited-edition versions of the Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force “The Limited Edition 5th Anniversary” are available now exclusively through The Limited Edition. Each model will be limited to five pieces, and priced at £15,750 GBP, or about $21,410 USD.

1/4/2021 do a review on Aragon watches.
They are based out of Florida, and they make a great watch. I have several of them.
