Each year I attend SIHH and like every digital camera owner, I take far more images than I will ever use. Some will appear in upcoming stories. Most will never appear on your screens. To break the monotony of endless posts about new watches, here are a few images selected for your enjoyment. They include people, places, and yes, a watch.
Virtually all trade shows feature lovely ladies, often strategically placed near the entrances to the booths. SIHH (and Baselworld) are no exception. I found this lovely lady at the Ralph Lauren booth.
The booths themselves are often decorated in an eye-catching fashion, and IWC is well known for over-the-top booth decor. This year’s underwater theme featured life-size sharks and a column of mock bubbles to celebrate the year of the Aquatimer.
The lovely movement in a special Panerai pocketwatch. Beauty takes several forms at SIHH.
Most of us shoot hand-held with available light. This fellow does not.
Spotting a horological rock star. Philippe Dufour (left) chats with Jean-Francois Erard at the Greubel Forsey booth.
For some reason, I returned to the Ralph Lauren booth.

Hey Mike, I know what you mean. I would have gone back to the Ralph Lauren booth also. On a different note, the movement for the Panerai pocketwwatch is gorgeous. The case has to be either white gold or platinum. I’m sure it will be a special and even limited piece with a high price tag.
Nice photos. I liked the underwater theme … sharks and all, and the ladies weren’t all that bad either. Do people buy watches at this event, or is it just a show and tell?
Thank you Robinoz for the kind words. SIHH is a trade show where retailers meet with manufacturers to place orders for stock they will offer at retail in their stores. Watches are not offered for sale to consumers or end-users. If I saw a watch I liked in a display window at SIHH, I could not buy it there. I would have to wait for it to arrive at a retailer to make the purchase.
Some really quality blog posts on this internet site , saved to fav. ecdkfgeagcee
