Several watch brands have announced new ambassadors recently. Casio’s G-Shock has added professional snowboarder Kazu Kokubo to its growing roster of extreme sports athletes. In addition to his many snowboarding victories, including two consecutive US Open of Snowboarding championships, Kokubo also volunteers with the Japanese animal rescue group, JEARS, of which a portion of the proceeds from his products go to support.
Richard Mille’s latest addition to its ‘partner racing drivers’ team is French driver Romain Dumas, winner of the Le Mans 24-hour race. He joins Richard Mille’s other drivers, including Felipe Massa, Jules Bianchi, Charles Leclerc, and Martin & Alex Brundle. While racing, Dumas will wear the RM 011 FM, a watch specifically designed for motor sports.
In boutique news, Vacheron Constantin has opened a new boutique in Las Vegas at the Palazzo Resort, Hotel & Casino. This is the brand’s 30th boutique worldwide and the 2nd boutique in North America (it’s first was in New York). The boutique will offer watches from all of Vacheron Constantin’s collections, as well as boutique exclusives.
