Wempe Glashütte Adds New Rubber Straps to Iron Walker Collection

Three years ago, Wempe Glashütte I/SA introduced the Iron Walker, a contemporary sports watch collection with integrated bracelet. Since then, the collection has grown and includes several complications and variations, such as a chronograph, a GMT timepiece, and a diver’s watch.

The company is now adding rubber straps for the Iron Walker Automatic Diver, Iron Walker Tide Automatic and Iron Walker GMT models. Available in blue or black, they are resilient, durable and sweat-resistant and, thanks to a compound that has been added, well protected against discoloration caused by UV rays.

All three models are powered by a Swiss automatic movement from Sellita. This workhouse caliber is updated with an in-house fine adjustment mechanism in Wempe watchmaker’s workshops in Glashütte and carefully adjusted so that it passes the elaborate test to qualify as a certified chronometer in accordance with the German chronometer certification, ISO 3159, in the historic observatory of the famous watchmaking town.

Pricing for the Wempe models is as follows: Iron Walker Automatic Diver: $4,150, Iron Walker Tide Automatic: $3,625, and Iron Walker GMT: $4,440.
