Munster, Germany-based MeisterSinger, introduces an all-new dial color to three of its watch models at Baselworld 2016: “Rensing Green” will make its first appearance on new versions of the MeisterSinger No. 02, MeisterSinger Pangaea, and MeisterSinger Neo.
The idea (and hence, the name) of the new dial color came from Nico Rensing, a longtime member of MeisterSinger’s international sales team, whose idea for a deep, sunburst green was first implemented on the brand’s Salthora Meta jumping-hour watch in 2015, which became a surprise hit. That watch’s unexpected success led MeisterSinger to implement the color on a trio of its new releases for this year.
The MeisterSinger No. 02 in Rensing Green (below) joins the existing models with ivory and sapphire blue dials. It has a 43-mm-diameter stainless steel case and is powered by a hand-wound Unitas 6468-1 movement with a 46-hour power reserve, visible through a clear sapphire caseback. The sunburst-finished dial features white index markers and applied Arabic numerals, along with MeisterSinger’s familiar single hand for time indication. It comes on a croc-print calfskin strap in gray.
The Rensing Green model of the MeisterSinger Pangaea (below) has a 40-mm diameter steel case with an exhibition back and also sports a gray, croc-print calfskin strap. A lighter, more subtle numeral font is used here for the hours and minutes, as indicated by the white, single, centered hand. The watch is powered by either an ETA 2892-2 or a Sellita SW300-1 automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve. The Pangaea also comes in ivory, sunburst anthracite, or sunburst blue dial colors.
The MeisterSinger Neo with Rensing Green dial (below) is also equipped with an automatic movement, either an ETA 2824 or a Sellita SW 200-1, with a 38-hour power reserve. This modestly sized, ultra-thin model (just 36 mm in diameter and 9.7 mm thick) is based on a vintage watch from the 1950s, and even has a period-appropriate, thin hardened acrylic crystal. This model — which is also available with ivory, black, silver, and blue dials — is the most monochromatic of the new watches, outfitted with a green-toned suede strap.
Prices for the new watches will be announced at Baselworld 2016.
