In 2009 Frédérique Constant launched the limited edition Runabout series designed to celebrate the legendary “Runabout” yachts of the roaring 20s, which can still be seen today on Lake Geneva. For 2010, Frédérique Constant is bringing out 3 new special edition Runabout watches in limited editions of 1888 pieces for each series in honor of the brand’s continued involvement with and support of the annual “Hélice Classique” yacht meet, organized by the Societé Nautique de Genève.
The star of the new series is the 43mm Runabout Manufacture Power Reserve with manufacture power reserve movement. The case is hand-polished and the dial is decorated with ‘Clous de Paris’ guilloche in the center. The power reserve indicator at 12 0’clock informs the owner how much of the available 42 hours remains. The case back features a marine-inspired engraved propeller and a porthole through which the movement can be viewed.
Two new automatic models complete the Runabout series. These models are available in steel or rose gold plate. Each of these new timepieces comes in its own handmade wooden gift box that echoes the craftsmanship of the yachts they honor. Each watch is also offered with a miniature reproduction of one of the classic boats. Additional technical information appears below the images, which may be enlarged with a click.
