At this year’s Watches and Wonders, Hublot, the undisputed master of materials and fusion, unveils a new execution of the Square Bang, clad in a sapphire case. An offspring of the legendary Big Bang, the barrel-shaped luxury timepiece was first introduced at Watches and Wonders 2022.
Translating the specific features that distinguish the Big Bang Unico into a new format, the watch revisits the case’s sandwich-like construction, the use of high-tech materials, and the six functional H-shaped screws. Despite the two-fold challenge of its square format and the case’s multi-layered sapphire construction, Hublot’s engineers have successfully ensured that this timepiece has a diameter of 41mm and a height of 12mm.
The Square Bang Unico Sapphire is outfitted with the automatic Unico caliber, which operates at 4Hz and has a 72-hour power reserve. The genuine chronograph movement also offers a flyback function. It adapts to the square format, allowing it to be admired through the openwork dial, the back of the watch, and through the sapphire crystal case itself.
The Hublot Square Bang Unico Sapphire is limited to 250 pieces. Pricing is marked at $95,000.
