Up, Up, And Away: Hamilton Flies High With New Khaki Pilot Pioneer Mechanical Chronograph

Reviving its prowess on the field of aviation watches and celebrating authentic vintage design, Hamilton launches the Khaki Pilot Pioneer Mechanical Chronograph. The faithful 40mm stainless steel model brings back the form and function of the chronographs the tradition brand with American roots produced for the British Royal Air Force pilots in the 1970s.

Its no-nonsense dial is distinguished by two horizontally aligned counters measuring minutes and running seconds that stand out against the black-grained backdrop. The hands are coated with a white lacquer consistent with the original RAF models. Also used on the dial markings, its beige-tone is reminiscent of the patina found today in vintage radium-based lume.

The watch face is protected by a box sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating. The Khaki Pilot Pioneer Mechanical Chronograph is driven by the brand’s powerhouse, the H-51-Si mechanical chronograph movement, with 60 hours power reserve, a silicon balance spring and manual winding. It is equipped with a leather strap and retails for $2,045.
