Sponsored: Introducing the Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T Blue Angels JY8128-56L

The Promaster collection from Citizen has garnered wide renown since its 1989 debut, since becoming known as a hardy and innovative line of reliable, professional-grade timepieces. Expanding the notable collection is a novel special edition, now seen via the Promaster Skyhawk A-T Blue Angels JY8128-56L . Like previous Skyhawk iterations, the new model features an aeronautical-focused aesthetic and functionality, all while commemorating Citizen’s long standing partnership with the U.S. Navy’s flight demonstration squad, the Blue Angels.

Exuding boldness through form and function, the robust steel watch measures 46mm in diameter. The blue and yellow colorway is a reminder of an over 25-year partnership with the Blue Angels, with the watch’s refined silhouette recalling previous generations of the Skyhawk model. With a knurled crown in the 3 o’clock position and textured pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock, the design is easily operable, yet still protected from any turbulence. Completing the case is a bi-directional, rotating slide rule bezel that makes the calculation of complicated figures like fuel consumption and speed possible.

For the dial of the Blue Angels special edition, Citizen opts for a deep, handsome blue with white and yellow printing, the color details matching the look first seen via the watch’s bezel. The dial layout is made up of black, backlit LED subdials and digital indicators with white hands ticking atop to display the main time, with the style reminiscent of the cockpit gauges of fighter jets. The various subdials offer a dual-time display, power reserve indication, function setting, chronograph readout, and more. The lower left quadrant features the Blue Angels wordmark, while a blue outer bezel signals the watch’s celebration of the famous F18 pilots.

The Promaster Skyhawk A-T boasts atomic timekeeping for 43 cities along with a perpetual calendar feature via the caliber U680. To ensure time signal reception function across four global regions (the U.S., Japan, China, and Europe), the watch utilizes Perfex Multi 300, which guarantees an accurate time signal is always within range. The impressive movement features an Eco-Drive power, the solar-driven mechanism allowing the watch to run for 6 months on a full charge when kept from a light source. In keeping with the characteristic durability of all Citizen Promaster watches, the ref. JY8128-56L is shock resistant and offers water resistance up to 200m.

The new Citizen Promaster Blue Angels Skyhawk A-T JY8128-56L is available now, both through the Citizen’s website and via authorized retailers, with pricing marked at $895.
