After the Luminor Chrono Luna Rossa of 2021, Panerai is again launching a special limited edition model for the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sailing team in 2022. The Submersible Quaranta Quattro Luna Rossa boasts a 44-mm case in Panerai’s AISI 316L satin-finished stainless steel. With its water resistance to 300 meters, the watch is sports ready, complete with a unidirectional rotating bezel inclusive of markings for the crucial first 15 minutes of sailing.
An eye-catching element is the narrow red stripe on the blue textile strap, both echoing the colors of the team. The same rings true for the sunray brushed blue dial with the signature small seconds at 9 o’clock including a red hand, a date aperture at 3 o’clock and luminous hour markers and dots. Setting the course inside behind a closed case back is Panerai’s automatic caliber P.900, which provides a power reserve of three days.
Limited to 1,500 pieces, the Quaranto Quattro Luna Rossa retails for $8,900.
