Panerai Releases Two New Watches Alongside Extended “Pam.Guard” Warranty Program

Panerai is releasing two new gold watches this month as part of its Luminor Due – 42mm series, the PAM1041 and PAM1042. The two new timepieces will be the first to be covered under the Swiss-based, Florentine-founded brand’s new Pam.Guard program, which lengthens Panerai’s standard warranty from two to eight years with additional membership benefits gained for all those who join the program.

In addition to covering these two new models introduced at the kickoff of the program, the Pam.Guard offer will also be available to all other Panerai models purchased within the past two years from official dealers. This news comes on the heels of a number of other Richemont-owned watch brands also extending their warranty programs; we covered IWC’s establishment of its new “My IWC” program a few weeks ago, and Cartier was one of the first in the Richemont family to release details on its new program prior to that.

The two new watches both use the Luminor Due – 42mm case design, but are differentiated in their dial colors, with the option for either cream or black. The 42-mm cases are made of Panerai Goldtech™ — a proprietary gold-alloy case material— and are in the pillow-shaped Luminor style, with its distinguished crown guard and straight lugs. The dial of the model should also be familiar to Panerai fans, with the sunray black and cream-colored options featuring either applied or sandwich-style beige hour markers, with large Arabic numerals at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions and more basic bar indices at each other hour mark. At 3 o’clock is a small date window, while a small seconds subdial appears at 9 o’clock. Sweeping over the Super-LumiNova-accented dial are two sword hands for the hour and minute.

Powering each of the new models is the P.900 caliber, an in-house automatic movement developed in-house by Panerai at its atelier in Neuchatel, Switzerland, capable of a three-day power reserve. Its brushed finishing is on display through a sapphire caseback.

The new models are expected to be available at the start of 2020, and while pricing is still unavailable it will likely hover around those of other Luminor Due – 42mm models in gold at around $22,000. The Pam.Guard program will be available immediately, with prospective members able to sign up through authorized dealers upon a new purchase, or directly through Panerai’s website, here.
