Omega Anticipates the Paris 2024 Olympic Games With Special Seamaster Diver 300M

With the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris on the horizon, Omega, the official timekeepers of the Olympic Games launches a special edition based on its Seamaster Diver 300M timepiece.

A new take on this classic, the Seamaster Diver 300M “Paris 2024” Special Edition is distinguished by a bezel made from Omega’s Moonshine Gold 18k alloy and a bright white ceramic dial. The bezel features a laser-structured diving scale, and a single dot of Super-LumiNova at 12 o’clock.

The dial sports the typical raised wave pattern, adding depth to the Superluminova-coated watch face. In addition to the signature dots, markers, and the skeletonized hands, there are some nice new details to discover. For one, the central seconds hand bears the Paris 2024 logo. Another feature that nods to the event is the date indication positioned at 6 o’clock. Its numbers have been inscribed with the Paris 2024 designated font.

Naturally, the closed case back also commemorates the occasion with a medallion made from Moonshine Gold bearing the emblem of the Paris Olympics. As the case back is secured by the brand’s patented Naiad-Lock, the emblem will always be in an upright orientation.

Measuring 42mm in diameter and 13.7mm in height, the stainless steel case is water resistant to 300 meters and equipped with a helium valve. The watch is presented on a stainless steel bracelet, but the brand’s Quick Change System allows for an easy swap with the special Paris 2024 NATO straps.

The Seamaster Diver 300M “Paris 2024” Special Edition is driven by the caliber 8800, a METAS-certified movement featuring a full balance bridge with a free-sprung balance that enhances timekeeping stability. Running at 25,200 beats per hour (3.5 Hz), the caliber is tested to Omega’s Master Chronometer certificate, ensuring a maximum deviation of between zero and +5 seconds per day. It offers a power reserve of 55 hours.

Only available at Omega boutiques in the host city of Paris, the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M “Paris 2024” Special Edition is priced at $8,700.

Beautiful watch but exorbitantly priced. I’m proud to say that I own several Omega pieces all purchased before the ridiculous gouging prices in todays market.
