Mühle-Glashütte Introduces S.A.R. Mission-Timer

Mühle-Glashütte is approaching its second full decade of partnering with the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS). To mark the 20th anniversary of their collaboration, the brand presents the new S.A.R. Mission-Timer, which was developed according to the specifications of the maritime rescue team. The debutante follows up on the success of the famous S.A.R. Rescue-Timer.

The S.A.R. Mission-Timer sets sail in a streamlined and redesigned 43mm titanium case with a black ceramic bezel that is water-resistant to 500 meters. The distinctive dial layout is created by milled recesses for the indexes, which are then filled with a luminous compound. In contrast to the previous S.A.R. Rescue timer, the new model is not equipped with a magnifying lens for the date, because the Sellita SW 400 automatic caliber uses a larger date ring.

The traditional German brand has deep roots in nautical timekeeping and enhances the movement with its proprietary woodpecker neck regulation, a customized rotor with refined surface finishes. To complete the release, Mühle-Glashüette is offering 63 unique pieces of the S.A.R. Mission-Timer with different sea rescue cruisers engraved on the case back.

The limited-edition Mühle-Glashüette S.A.R. Mission-Timer retails for approximately $3,900 when converted to USD. A portion of the sales goes to the DGzRS society to support their rescue missions. The standard model S.A.R. Mission-Timer in serial production has a price tag of approximately $2,800.
