Meet the Grand Seiko Evolution 9 Spring Drive 5 Days Lake Suwa Before Dawn SLGA021G

Grand Seiko is known for taking inspiration from the beautiful nature surrounding its production sites in Japan. The latest example is the Grand Seiko Evolution 9 Spring Drive 5 Days Lake Suwa Before Dawn SLGA021G whose dials reflects the color and the pattern of the waves on Lake Suwa near the Shinshu Watch Studio in the early morning hours.

The embossed texture serves as a magnificent backdrop for the applied markers and hands that are meticulously faceted, brushed and polished in accordance with the brand’s “Evolution 9 Grammar of Design” and the framed date window.

As is typical for Grand Seiko, the stainless steel case which measures 40 mm in diameter and has a height of 11.8 mm is finished with a mix of brushed and Zaratsu-polished surfaces.

It sports a water-resistance of 100 meters and contains the Spring Drive Caliber 9RA2 which offers a power reserve of 5 days and an accuracy of ±0.5 seconds per day. The movement comes to life through the sapphire case back where one can also spot a power reserve indicator.

The Grand Seiko Evolution 9 Spring Drive 5 Days Lake Suwa Before Dawn SLGA021G has been in stores since the beginning of February and has a retail price of $9,100.
