IWC Debuts Formula 1 Inspired Chronograph

IWC became the official engineering partner of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1™ Team in 2013. Now celebrating ten years of partnership, the Swiss luxury brand presents the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1™ Team watch with a “Miami Pink” rubber strap. The bold hue is a nod to the colors of Ocean Drive. The chronograph, which was debuted at the first Miami Grand Prix™ a year ago, is also the first official team watch IWC has produced for its partner. It is presented in a light yet robust grade 5 titanium case and features a black dial with printing and luminescence in the team’s signature PETRONAS green.

The timepiece is powered by the proprietary self-winding 69385 caliber. This chronograph movement in a column-wheel design comprises 242 parts and can be viewed through the sapphire glass back. Its bi-directional pawl winding system builds up a power reserve of 46  hours in the mainspring.

The existing version of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1™ Team (ref. IW388108) on a green rubber strap comes in a bundle with a black calfskin strap and will continue to be available online. The new reference on the Miami Pink rubber strap (ref. IW388114) comes in a bundle with the green strap and can only be purchased online.

Pricing for the online-exclusive IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1™ Team is marked at $8,300.
