Going Global: Introducing the Citizen Series 8 GMT

The Citizen Series 8 collection of mechanical watches is known for its modern and sporty looks. It is now enriched by two new GMT watches that feature a high level of magnetic resistance. This complication is a premiere for the Series 8.

The new watches’ GMT function allows the wearer to see the time in up to three time zones with the help of the the bi-directional rotating bezel whose color codes make for day and night indication. The bold dial pattern is inspired by the skyline of Tokyo at night with its countless skyscrapers and windows of different sizes, creating a modern look and feel.

They make for a nice contrast with the stainless steel case that is distinguished by smooth mirror and brushed finishes. They have a diameter of 41mm and a water-resistance to 100 meters. In addition, the self-winding Cal.9054, which offers a power reserve of 50 hours and has a daily accuracy of -10 to +20 seconds, is protected against magnetic fields. It comes to life through the sapphire case back.

The Series 8 880 Mechanical will be available from fall 2023. Price is marked at $1,695.
