The G-SHOCK Full Metal collection has emerged as one of the Japanese brand’s most successful recent ventures. First introduced at Baselworld 2018, the line quickly expanded with a number of different colorways to match demand, but one of the first references, GMWB5000D-1, with its cool silver tone, stands out as perhaps the most memorable design. Taking inspiration from the iconic DW5000C, the first-ever G-SHOCK from 1983, the watch incorporates recognizable details like the square-shaped case with a brick pattern going across the digital face. While the watch offers a strong level of classic appeal, it’s a completely modern timepiece with all the technically potent amenities we’ve come to expect from G-SHOCK these days. The G-SHOCK GMWB5000D-1 features a super illuminator LED light and a solar battery – allowing for the watch to be powered by light. Additionally, the timepiece incorporates an upgraded, stylish, full stainless steel housing and DLC screw-back case. Bluetooth connectivity with a smartphone through the G-SHOCK app allows for two-way time sync functionality, while the G-SHOCK Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping technology imbued within the watch provides precision timekeeping to the second via radio signals from up to six different transmitters worldwide. Other functional features 1/100-second stopwatch, an LED light for nighttime legibility, worldtime, and a countdown timer. The G-SHOCK GMWB5000D-1 is priced at $500 and you can learn more here.
