Watch collectors and aficionados will have an opportunity to preview the 34 one-of-a-kind timepieces being offered at Only Watch 2009 during an exhibition at the Tourneau Time Machine in New York September 10-12. Only Watch is a biannual auction held during the Monaco Yacht Show under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert II. The world’s leading watch brands donate unique and first-in-a-series “Only Watches”, and the timepieces are auctioned by Patrizzi & Co. with all proceeds going to support research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a childhood disease.
The auction will be held September 24 in Monaco. The participating brands for 2009 are: Audemars Piguet, Bell & Ross, Blancpain, Bovet Fleurier, Breguet, Cabestan, Cartier, Chaumet, Chanel, Confrerie Horlogere (by BNB Concept), Corum, De Bethune, Delacour, Franc Vila, Franck Muller, Frédérique Constant, Girard Perregaux, Hermès, Hublot, Jaquet Droz, Les Ateliers de Monaco, Louis Vuitton, MB&F, Montblanc, Omega, Patek Philippe, Piaget, Swatch, Tag Heuer, Tourneau Timepieces, Ulysse Nardin, Vacheron Constantin, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Zenith.
Following the New York preview, the timepieces will be shown in Milan at Pisa Orologeria September 17-18, and then at the Monaco Yacht Show September 23 and 24. Two previous auctions, held in 2005 and 2007, raised more than $6 million and helped research leading to important developments in the treatment of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
