Ulysse Nardin is a six-time sponsor of the Monaco Yacht Show, and to celebrate this year’s event, this brand that is so closely linked to the seas has created a new watch, the Ulysse Nardin Marine Diver Monaco Limited Edition.
As one of the foremost manufacturers of the marine chronometers that guided sailing ships around the globe, no other timepiece manufacturer is more closely associated with precision timekeeping on the high seas than Ulysse Nardin, and the Marine Diver Monaco Limited Edition stands as a testament to that history. The styling is modern, yet it clearly echoes the marine chronometers of old. Small details, such as the repeating sailing ship motif on the deep blue dial, the blue wave pattern on the bezel, and the Ulysse Nardin anchor emblem at 3 o’clock represent the brand’s nautical heritage.
The 44-mm case is designed to sail above the seas, and to dive beneath them. Divers will appreciate the 300 meter water resistance, the crenelated, unidirectional rotating bezel, and the screw-down crown with rubber accents for improved grip. The bold hands and hour markers, and the uninterrupted minute track, enhance legibility, even in low light conditions. The oversize subsidiary seconds allow instant confirmation that the timepiece is functioning as it should. All displays are protected by a nonreflective sapphire crystal.
The blue rubber diving strap of the Ulysse Nardin Marine Diver Monaco incorporates twin engraved titanium elements and a deployant buckle. The red accents pick up those on the hour markers and hands, creating a pleasing symmetry.
The self-winding Caliber UN-26, with a power reserve of 42 hours, displays central hours and minutes, small seconds at 6 o’clock, the date inside the seconds, and the power reserve just below 12 o’clock.
Limited to 100 pieces, each individually engraved and numbered, the Marine Diver Monaco Limited Edition is priced at $8,600.
