Video: Zenith’s Assembly of the Academy Georges Favre-Jacot Movement

Zenith developed a special complicated watch, the Academy Georges Favre-Jacot, to celebrate its 150th Anniversary in 2014. (Click here to read our detailed report on the watch.) This limited-edition timepiece is equipped with a fusee-and-chain constant force system. In this exclusive video, produced in cooperation with Jeff Kingston and IBG Worldwide, we will meet with the director of the movement development for Zenith watches, who will explain how this system — which Zenith traces the roots of this watch to its development of marine clocks — works, and show some of the important details in its construction. We will visit Zenith’s complicated watches workshop to observe some of the steps in its assembly — including the insertion of the fine chain into the watch, and its attachment to the fusee and the winding barrel.
