With the Manta Trust, Carl F. Bucherer Launches Patrava ScubaTec Verde

Since 2013, Carl F. Bucherer has been a steadfast supporter of the Manta Trust. In 2023, this commitment continues with the introduction of the Patravi ScubaTec Verde, the brand’s latest dive watch. With the launch of the watch, the trust is also embarking on its most recent research expedition in Ecuador, which harbors the world’s largest recorded population of oceanic manta rays.

As its name implies, the Patravi ScubaTec Verde is distinguished by a captivating green hue that extends seamlessly from its lacquered dial, adorned with intricate wave design detailing, to its ceramic bezel and rubber strap. Notably, the strap features a textile inlay crafted from recycled PET. This vibrant color palette draws inspiration from the lush green waters encircling Isla de La Plata, a small island situated approximately 40 kilometers off the Ecuadorian coastline. Isla de La Plata serves as a gathering ground for over 22,000 oceanic manta rays each August and September, making it a vibrant and vital spectacle. CFB will be providing comprehensive funding to support a dedicated team of researchers from the Manta Trust and Proyecto Mantas Ecuador to study of the manta ray population.

With a remarkable water resistance of up to 50 bar, which stands as the deepest specification in CFB’s range of diving watches, this timepiece showcases its robust design. The 44.6mm steel case is equipped with water-resistant gaskets, a screw-down crown, and a helium valve, ensuring the safe release of gas during dives and ascents to safeguard the integrity of the case. The thick sapphire crystal, featuring an anti-reflective coating on both sides, enhances clarity. The watch’s legibility is guaranteed even at significant depths, thanks to hands and index markers filled with Super-LumiNova. Additionally, the unidirectional rotating bezel is fitted with a Super-LumiNova marker, facilitating precise orientation.

Precision within is ensured by the 1950.1 caliber, a COSC-certified chronometer. This self-winding movement operates beneath an engraved case back, which proudly exhibits a captivating manta motif.

Pricing for the new Carl F. Bucherer Patrava ScubaTec Verde is marked at $7,200.
