Showing at WatchTime New York 2023: Cyrus Genève Klepcys Dice Lime Carbon

WatchTime New York 2023 invites you into the world of horological innovation and craftsmanship. Set against the grandeur of Manhattan’s Gotham Hall from October 20th to 22nd, this three-day watch collectors’ event promises a profound exploration of some of the world’s most impressive timepieces, with plenty of hands-on opportunities, industry panels, and fantastic horological conversations sure to come. Join WatchTime this year is Swiss independent Cyrus Genève, who will be presenting one of their most important timepieces of the year with the new Klepcys Dice Lime Carbon.

Poised as a captivating blend of art and engineering, the Cyrus Genève Klepcys Dice Lime Carbon is the 2010-founded maison’s latest iteration of its signature Klepcys design. Crafted with precision and innovation in mind, this 100m water resistant timepiece features a 42mm by 16.5mm case in a familiar cushion shape, making use of grade 5 titanium for its primary construction. Adding to its allure, the watch boasts a carbon fiber bezel that not only enhances the watch’s lightweight and temperature-resistant properties, but also illuminates in the dark thanks to luminescent inclusions; touches of carbon fiber are also put to use for the timepiece’s two crown-pushers on either side of the case.

Notably, the fresh-faced chronograph is available on one of two options, including a lime green Cordura fabric strap, or a novel integrated titanium bracelet. The watch is the first model by the brand to make use of this specific bracelet design, presenting a new aesthetic perspective to the Klepcys look.

The dial of the Klepcys Dice Lime Carbon exemplifies a 3D open-worked design, a signature feature of Cyrus Genève’s offerings. The open-worked style reveals the watch’s chronograph mechanism in action, showcasing two distinct column wheels. Floating Arabic numerals and partially skeletonized hands make use of Super-LumiNova accents to emit a captivating blue glow in low-light conditions and ensure legibility, while a double chronograph counter at 3 o’clock features smoky sapphire crystal with lime green and yellow numerals to add a vibrant touch.

Powering the double chronograph is the CYR718 automatic calibre, an engineering marvel designed by master watchmaker Jean-François Mojon. This unprecedented movement houses two identical chronograph mechanisms within a single case, with the movement itself being reversed so both column wheels are visible on the skeletonized dial side, while the one of its two mainplates is visible on the reverse. With 443 components and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations/hour, the mechanism offers a 55-hour power reserve. The insulation of the two chronographs ensures precise measurements without interfering with each other, even during the return-to-zero phase.

Interestingly, the motion work mechanism that drives the hour and minute hands is revolutionized with a compact concentric design, coaxial to the hand axes. This innovative approach works to optimize space within the watch while maintaining accuracy through daily wear.

The movement’s exquisite details, including bridges with hand-anglage profiles and a grey anthracite NAC galvanic surface treatment, are visible through a sapphire crystal porthole. The monobloc open-worked rotor, engraved with the motto “The Conquest of Innovation” and adorned with the helix logo in 18K 4N gold, adds a touch of sophistication.

The new Cyrus Genève Klepcys Dice Lime Carbon is being offered as a limited edition of 50 pieces with a green Cordura fabric strap and 50 pieces with a titanium bracelet. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness this mechanical marvel in person at WatchTime New York 2023.
