Oris this fall introduces a special edition of its popular ProPilot X Caliber 400, featuring a unique dial with a rainbow shimmer that changes color when moved. Notably, this effect is achieved without the application of color pigments; instead, a laser finishing technique is employed.
The laser finish absorbs red light and reflects green and blue light, creating a surface that shimmers in rainbow colors, reminiscent of certain beetle species. According to Oris, this technique is a first in watchmaking.
The distinctive angular design of the 39-mm case and the bracelet, both constructed from lightweight and durable titanium, remains unchanged. Powering the Pro Pilot X Caliber 400 Laser is the in-house and namesake automatic caliber 400, providing a generous five-day power reserve. The movement boasts high resistance to magnetic fields, an extended service interval of ten years, and is backed by a ten-year guarantee. It comes to life through a sapphire crystal case back.
Pricing for the new watch is marked at $5,200.
