Junghans Releases Meister Pilot Automatic Navy Blue

Since the early 20th century, Junghans has been manufacturing mechanical on-board watches that were used in both airships and airplanes to determine the duration of flights, and were thus indispensable navigation instruments. The Black Forest based watch factory reached another milestone in the 1950s, with the company developing its first wristwatch for pilots on behalf of the newly founded German Bundeswehr, which is still legendary to this day.

The latest addition to the brand’s pilots squad is the Meister Pilot Automatic Navy Blue. It features a wide dial design with bold Arabic numerals and hands, with the large subsidiary seconds and the prominent date window taking center stage. The luminescent watch face is framed bz a unidirectional bezel which is made of DLC-coated stainless steel. The case measures 43.3mm wide and has a height of 12.5mm. Water-resistant to 100 meters, it houses the self-winding caliber J880.1.

Pricing of the Meister Pilot Automatic, which is scheduled to be available from July 2023, is marked at approximately $2,150 when converted to USD.
