Bell & Ross Goes Green for the BR 05 Chrono

Green is hot and happening, and Bell & Ross takes advantage of this trend to fit their urban sports watch, the BR 05 Chrono, with a dial in the color. A lot depends on the hue that brands select, and Bell & Ross opted for a darker green that is brought to life by applying a sunburst finish to the dial. This makes the watch quite captivating, all the more as the subdials of the BR 05 Chrono are surrounded by a light-colored railroad track in the same shape as the case.

Here, nothing is changed, as it is still 42mm wide and 14.25 mm thick like the previous models. These dimensions give a nice presence on the wrist without becoming too large or uncomfortable. The crown is nested between its crown guards, and the chronograph pushers are nicely integrated. The same can be said of the date, which Bell & Ross placed between four and five o’clock. The background of the date wheel is the same color green, so also this function becomes an integrated part of the watch itself.

The BR 05 is among the current generation of timepieces with an integrated bracelet. In reality, this means that they offer the integrated bracelet look, which can be swapped in seconds for a strap. This function expands the way that you get to enjoy watches like this Bell & Ross. While it is quite the sports chronograph, it does show us a different side of itself when the green rubber strap is fitted. It becomes more casual, but most of all, more green.

The BR 05 Chrono is powered by caliber BR-CAL.326, which is based on a modified Sellita SW510. This robust automatic chronograph movement is largely hidden behind the attractive design of the oscillating weight but shows enough to see an attractive finish. It offers a power reserve of a generous 60 hours and runs at 4Hz/28,800 VpH. The BR 05 Chrono further offers a water resistance up to 10 ATM/ 100 meters, making it a great all-round sports watch.

While we have a bit of a green color overkill in the watch world, it suits the BR 05 Chrono nicely, as Bell & Ross opted for a nice hue that also complements the rest of the collection of more traditional colors. The BR 05 Chrono in green costs $6,200 on a green rubber strap, but I would advise spending $6,700 on the bracelet version and ordering the green rubber strap separately to get a complete set, and one more way of wearing this Bell & Ross.
