Sponsored: Perrelet Pays Homage to the US with the New “TURBINE UNITED”

In the latest introduction from watchmaker Perrelet, the prestigious Swiss watchmaking manufacture pays homage to its history in the American market, unveiling a watch in tribute to and inspired by the United States. The new timepiece, dubbed the “TURBINE UNITED,” takes its foremost design cues from the original and iconic Turbine collection, refreshing the design and mechanics of the Turbine EVO— a collection launched in 2019 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Turbine Technology— for something novel and captivating.

The new “TURBINE UNITED” is defined by its red, white, and blue colorway, the shades and styling taking their direct inspiration from the Stars and Stripes, the American flag. It comes in a stylized stainless-steel case with alternating brushed and polished finishings, with a diameter of 44mm, height of 13.82mm, and water resistance of 5ATM. The look of the case is remarked with its vertical fluting on its case middle, which extends to the integrated crown at 3 o’clock and contrasts with the flat, polished bezel and the new, more compact lugs. Compared to traditional, previous models in the Turbine collection, the renewed aesthetic touches on the case of the “TURBINE UNITED” presents an even sportier, more contemporary, and sophisticated spirit that positions the watch as a perfect daily wearer.

Underneath the double anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the protagonist of the “TURBINE UNITED” is found, with its lower dial decorated with alternating red, white, and starry blue rays. Like in previous Turbine watches, Perrelet’s signature Turbine Technology is at work on the dial, the motor behind the rotating blades animating the brand’s famous displays. With spinning blades that respond to the slightest movement of the wrist, the Turbine produces a fascinating optical effect revealing glimpses of the lower dial decorated with different motifs. Thanks to the rotation of these 12 black anodized aluminum blades, the famous Stars and Stripes of the American flag depicted on the dial beneath the Turbine appear. Another fascinating spectacle occurs in the dark when the stars and the white stripes of the flag glow with luminescent material.

Besides its red, white, and blue appeal, the dial of the “TURBINE UNITED” is additionally wonderfully straightforward, with its hours and indices appearing on a raised, matte black flange surrounded by the peripheral blue minutes track with white Arabic numerals at 5-minute intervals. Legibility is optimized in all lighting conditions via the use of luminescent material on the applied rhodium-plated indices and hands, with these hands pointing to Arabic numerals representing the even numbers with even more color accenting and luminescence, here via Super-LumiNova. The bright red central seconds hand adds the final splash of color to the dial, helping to cherry-top the fascinating three-dimensional nature of the dial.

Inside, the beating heart of this compendium of innovative technology and contemporary design is Perrelet’s second-generation P-331-MH. This in-house automatic caliber has both COSC and Chronofiable chronometry certification, guaranteeing the maximum reliability and precision of the movement powering this timepiece. The movement is visible via a sapphire exhibition case back, allowing a view of the refined finishings and the open-worked rhodium-plated oscillating weight personalized with the logo of Perrelet. The caseback’s outer ring uses the same fluting as the case’s sides, with its inner solid ring printed with the words “TURBINE LIMITED – Limited Edition – A4062/S1 – 01/25.” Its convex fluting corresponds precisely to the concave fluting on the case profile, a small yet refined detail that underlines the meticulous care and attention Perrelet invests in its finishings.

The new Perrelet “Turbine United” is limited to 25 total editions, with each priced at $4,380 and available exclusively through select authorized dealers in the United States.
