Toc19, a Hand-Wound Watch That Makes a Personal Statement

Toc Watch, or Toc, has just under two weeks to go in its first crowdfunding campaign. Having hit their target in just 24 hours, founders Will and Max are excited about the future.

Toc was established July 2016. Based in Dublin, Ireland, Toc brings individuality and choice with its first watch, the Toc19. The brand’s vintage-styled watches tell a story about you — about your personality, your attitude, your character.

The Toc19, the brand’s first watch, is available from €179 on Kickstarter for pre-orders until August 25th, when the launch campaign ends. After this crowdfunding stint, you will be able to pick up a Toc19 for €379 — a great price considering the build quality and the components used.

Will and Max are two highly focused individuals who have always wanted to put the energy into something creative that inspires them to push themselves every day. They are strong believers in going after one’s dreams and not stopping until one reaches them. Although the Kickstarter campaign is going very well, they are adamant that it is just the beginning of something really special.

They chose the watch business because they truly love watches, and both wanted to design and build a watch that they would normally aspire to wear. It’s no surprise they were delighted to receive some strong impartial reviews and coverage globally.

The Inspiration for Toc19

The Toc19’s minimalist design makes it subtle enough to fit in with everyday wear while at the same time elegant enough to be a serious dress watch. The brand has introduced some bolder dial colors, but at no time do they allow these to take the focus off the goal of delivering a quality watch.

The design was inspired by a German Bauhaus vintage watch from the watch company Kano dating back to the 1930s. Kano was unfortunately destroyed during WWII but its design influence remains. This Bauhaus influence (1919-1933) is clearly seen in Toc’s simple design and also in its use of a hand wound movement.

Will and Max have left nothing to chance with their first watch. They have spent the last 12 months ensuring quality was not overlooked when choosing each component. For example, all Toc19 watches use 316L stainless steel, Italian leather, and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The use of all these elements, along with a hand- wound mechanical movement, is remarkable considering the watches’ price point of €379. — and it’s worth mentioning again that you can still get a Toc19 from €179 until August 25th.

5-Year Warranty & Limited-Edition Dials

Will and Max want to grow Toc into a strong brand delivering quality watches and so the Toc19 comes with a 5-year warranty as well as free worldwide shipping. This is a limited-edition release, with six different dial colors offered. Another personal touch: your own unique limited-edition number will be etched into the caseback of the watch.

Will & Max want each buyer to be inspired and pick the dial color and strap option that suits his or her own unique personality. This watch is meant to be a statement of the true you.

The Next 12 Months for Toc

Once their crowdfunding is over, the retail price will be €379. Will and Max have a second design in the works already, and they hope to release a total of three watches before July 2018.

They have a fresh and honest approach to their new business, making it a part of their lifestyle and they believe that it’s never too late to break free and change your story.

Their project is live on Kickstarter.
