Glashütte Original Unveils the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date 2025 in Two New Colorways

For 2025, Glashütte Original presents a bold reinterpretation of the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date, introducing two captivating new dial colors — Plasma and Fusion. These futuristic hues lend the retro-inspired chronograph a fresh visual identity while highlighting the prowess of the in-house movement within.

The limited-editions of the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date  have long served as a creative playground for Glashütte Original’s designers. This year, their inspiration stems from a digital utopia— an imagined world where the boundaries between reality and virtuality blur. The color Plasma, a vibrant violet, and Fusion, a luminous lime green, reflect this futuristic vision and are deliberately open to interpretation. Depending on the angle and light, the dials reveal different facets of their personalities.

Manufactured in the brand’s lately inaugurated dial manufactory in Glashütte, the watch faces feature a velvety matte texture that highlights their vibrancy. This contrasts with the two black sub dials at 3 and 9 o’clock, which are enhanced with a subtle vinyl-record groove. Color coordination continues with the brand’s signature Panorama Date, making a bold carpe diem statement at 6 o’clock, and the mechanical-digital 12-hour-counter beneath 12 o’clock.

True to its name, the case of the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date exudes the design language of that vibrant decade. Its rounded-square 40 x 40 mm stainless steel case alternates polished and satin-brushed surfaces and is water-resistant to 100 meters (10 bar). Inside ticks the brand’s fully in-house Caliber 37-02, a sophisticated automatic movement with a column-wheel chronograph mechanism, flyback function, and a power reserve of up to 70 hours. Flipping the watch over reveals the finely decorated movement through the sapphire caseback. The three-quarter plate, typical of Glashütte fine watchmaking, is finished with traditional striping, while technical details include a skeletonized rotor with the brand’s double-G logo.

Both editions of the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date are limited to 100 pieces each. They are available on a matte black rubber strap for $15.800 or on a finely finished stainless steel bracelet with a precision-adjustment clasp for $17,100. Both prices are without taxes.
