Celebrating the opening of its new dial manufactory in Glashütte, Germany, Glashütte Original unveils the striking new PanoLunarTourbillon. This exclusive model, limited to just 50 pieces, features a distinctive rosé-hued dial inspired by the region’s iron-rich soil and a 40mm platinum case. Created through an intricate galvanic process, the dial’s shimmering surface reacts to light and movement, offering a vivid, ever-changing display that highlights the manufacture’s mastery of dial making and makes for a magnificent background for the sought-after complications the watch bears in its name.

The PanoLunarTourbillon combines three complications central to Glashütte Original’s horological legacy: the Flying Tourbillon, the Panorama Date, and the moon phase. Positioned below the main time display, which is offset to the left, the Flying Tourbillon completes one rotation per minute, indicating the seconds on its path. This gravity-defying mechanism was invented in 1920 by Glashütte master watchmaker Alfred Helwig and remains one of the region’s most important technical contributions in the history of watchmaking.

Positioned opposite, the Panorama Date at 4 o’clock is elegantly framed by a subtle window, adding balance and sophistication to the design. A Glashütte Original signature for more than 27 years, it uses two concentric discs to display the date without a separation bar. At 2 o’clock, the moon phase indication comes to life. In typical Glashütte Original fashion, the celestial body is presented on a night sky with hand-applied silver stars.

The PanoLunarTourbillon is driven by the self-winding caliber 93-03, a genuine movement with a power reserve of 60 hours and a silicon balance spring resistant to magnetic fields. It goes without saying that the movement is meticulously finished in accordance with the brand's high standards. Its elaborate refinements, such as the rhodium-plated bridges with stripe finish, the perlage-decorated main plate and the tin-polished tourbillon cage, can be admired through the sapphire case back.

The PanoLunarTourbillon comes with a blue Louisiana alligator leather strap as well as a blue synthetic strap, both fitted with a platinum folding clasp, and is available exclusively at Glashütte Original boutiques. Pricing is available upon request.
