IWC Schaffhausen has added a vibrant splash of color to its acclaimed Colors of TOP GUN collection with the introduction of a striking new hue: TOP GUN Miramar. Inspired by the pale blue shirts worn by instructors at the U.S. Navy’s legendary fighter weapons school, the new shade debuts on two 41-mm Pilot’s Chronographs: one in ceramic and one in stainless steel. TOP GUN Miramar joins other shades like Mojave Desert and Oceana.

At the heart of this summer’s launch is the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar (Ref. IW389409). Limited to 1,000 pieces, the watch features a light blue ceramic case, matching rubber strap, and color-coordinated dial, all presented in the fresh Miramar shade developed in collaboration with Pantone. The hands— also blue— are coated with Super-LumiNova for visibility in low-light environments. Other than that, the newcomer presents the sought-after tricompax layout, with slightly recessed and grooved sub dials, Arabic numerals, a triangle at 12 o'clock, and the weekday and date indication at 3 o'clock.

The ceramic case, 41.9mm wide and 15.5mm thick, is the result of IWC’s technical prowess in high-tech materials. Zirconium oxide, combined with selected metallic oxides in precise ratios, undergoes complex sintering to achieve the exact final color—a process requiring meticulous experimentation. One of the biggest challenges lies also in harmonizing the colorway across different materials, including the dial and strap, each with unique properties and manufacturing demands. As most of the watch family's members, the ceramic Miramar version is equipped with a soft-iron inner case to protect the movement against magnetism and features a solid case back with a dedicated engraving.

Pricing is marked at $13,500.

In a first for the brand, IWC is also introducing a TOP GUN Miramar color on a stainless steel timepiece—the unlimited Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 (Ref. IW388117). This new model features a brushed 41 x 14.5mm case, paired with the same Pantone-matched blue dial and rubber strap as its ceramic counterpart. Here, rhodium-plated hands are also filled with Super-LumiNova ensure optimal legibility. Another surprise is visible on the rear side: The Ref. IW388117 comes with a see-through sapphire case back, offering a beautiful panorama of the high-end self winding caliber within and its gorgeous finishings such as stripes, pelage and the skeletonized oscillating mass.

Both chronographs are powered by movements from the IWC-manufactured 69000 caliber family, beating at 4 Hz and featuring a column-wheel operation. This sophisticated chronograph mechanism ensures crisp actuation of the pushers and a distinct tactile feedback with each start, stop, or reset. The efficient double-pawl winding system builds a 46-hour power reserve.

Both models are water-resistant to 100 meters and fitted with the brand’s EasX-CHANGE system, which allows for quick, tool-free strap changes.

The steel iteration is priced at $7,200.
