Expanding Its Diver Collection, Rado Introduces the Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Diver

The successful Captain Cook product family from Rado is being expanded again this year. Following the ceramic models with a transparent dial and partially skeletonized movement introduced in 2021, these new designs are presented with the added term “Diver.” Characterized by a classic closed dial and an additional date display at 3 o’clock, the new Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Diver is available in black, plasma gray, plasma blue gray and olive green.

The monobloc cases, which are water-resistant to 300 meters, and the bracelets are made of scratch-resistant high-tech ceramic. This favorable material, for which Rado has long been famous, is combined with a bezel corpus made of hardened stainless steel and a case back consisting of brushed titanium. The diver’s watch is powered by an automatic movement whose functionality is on a par with the case technology: Caliber R763 is based on ETA C07 and has been customized for Rado. It is elaborately regulated, offers an 80-hour power reserve and an anti-magnetic Nivachron hairspring.

While the matte ceramic case and this efficient movement represent today’s cutting-edge, the historically shaped hands and the box-shaped sapphire crystal add an appealingly nostalgic touch. Prices start at approximately at $3,600.
