Frederique Constant Updates the Classic Worldtimer Manufacture
Watches and Wonders 2026
Since its debut in 2012, the Classic Worldtimer Manufacture has become one of the defining watches of Frederique Constant. Combining an accessible interpretation of haute horlogerie with an intuitive world-time display, the model quickly established itself as a modern icon within the brand’s collection. Now the Geneva-based manufacture presents a comprehensive update of the watch, introducing a new in-house movement, redesigned proportions, streamlined dials and a limited diamond-set edition.
At the heart of the new generation beats the Manufacture caliber FC-719, the brand’s 35th in-house movement since its founding in 1988. Developed and assembled within the manufacture’s workshops, the automatic movement builds on the reliability of its predecessor while introducing a significant technical improvement: a power reserve extended from 38 to 72 hours. This nearly 90-percent increase is achieved through a longer mainspring and an optimized alloy composition, while the movement maintains a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vph). Despite these enhancements, the caliber fits into a newly refined case measuring just 40 mm in diameter— two millimeters smaller than before— offering improved wearability without sacrificing mechanical substance. Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, the movement reflects Frederique Constant’s commitment to traditional finishing. The bridges feature sunburst Côtes de Genève, complemented by circular graining on the barrel, gear train and balance bridges, while the oscillating weight displays satin finishing with a snailed motif.

Frederique ConstantThe watch’s world-time function remains at its heart. A central map is surrounded by a city ring displaying 24 reference locations, while a two-tone 24-hour disc clearly distinguishes day from night. All functions can be adjusted directly via the crown, eliminating the need for pushers or correctors. This design not only simplifies operation but also enhances reliability and preserves the watch’s water resistance of 5 bar.

Frederique ConstantIn this new generation, the manufacture has chosen to omit the date, allowing the hours, minutes and world-time indication to take center stage. The resulting dial design is more streamlined and legible, reinforcing the functional elegance that has defined the model since its introduction.

Frederique ConstantSeveral new dial variations accompany the launch. A gradient blue dial with dark grey continents in relief offers a contemporary look, paired either with an interchangeable alligator strap or a newly designed five-link stainless-steel bracelet combining satin-brushed and polished surfaces.

Delivered with two interchangeable alligator straps, the watch pays subtle tribute to 1988, the year Frederique Constant was founded.
