Frederique Constant Dresses Up its Classics Worldtimer Manufacture

On the occasion of Black Friday, Frederique Constant announced a special edition of its Worldtimer Manufacture watch for the U.S. market, the eye-catching full black Classics Worldtimer Manufacture Globetrotter Edition. First introduced in 2012, the latest take on this complication features a 42mm PDV titanium coated case, a black dial, and–for the first time–the markers for 24 cities on the periphery of the dial uses their respective airport codes rather than their names.

The dial presents the familiar embossed planisphere with the oceans highlighted by a sunray finishing. At 6 o’clock, an elegant sunray guilloché subdial displays the pointer date. The only white details are the airport codes on the city disc, the day indication of the 24H disk, and the applied indexes. The latter, as well as the hour and minute hands, are coated with luminous material to ensure perfect readability, even at night.

All indications (hours, minutes, date, and Worldtimer) of the Classics Worldtimer Manufacture can be adjusted using the crown thanks to an ingenious three-notch system. The first step winds the watch, the second adjusts both the date (upwards) and the reference city (downwards), and the third adjusts the time in the central display.

This is made possible by the genuine self-winding caliber FC-718, which can be admired trough the sapphire case back. It displays fine perlage decoration on the main plate, sunburst finish and a partially skeletonized and engraved rotor.

The Frederique Constant Classics Worldtimer Manufacture Globetrotter Edition is fitted on a black alligator strap with a folding buckle and retails for $4,495.
